List of all Actions During Conducting Salah

 

Pillar : Arkan As-Salah (The essential components of the Salah)

Salah is invalid if any of these actions are missed during Salah. Missed actions can not compensated using prostrate for Sahw (forgetfulness). Salah Must be repeated to include the missing action.


Obligation : Wajibat As-Salah (The obligatory elements of the Salah)

Salah becomes invalid if any of these actions are are intentionally skipped during Salah. However,in case of forgetfulness Missed actions can be compensated using prostrate for Sahw (forgetfulness) and Salah does not have be repeated if compensated using prostrate for Sahw.


Strongly Recommneded : Sunnan As-Salah (the recommended acts of the Salah)

Recommended actions in the Salah. Absence of these actions does not invalidate Salah, however they are highly recommended actions with clear evidences that those were practiced by the prophet (صلى الله عليه وسلّم) . Actions in Salah based on evidences from the practice of the prophet are not Arkan (singular: Rukun) or Waajib.

 

Prophet (ﷺ) said: ‘Pray as you have seen me praying.’ (Bukhari)

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, ‘The key to Salaah is purification, it is entered by the Takbeer (saying AllahuAkbar) and exited by the Tasleem (saying Assalamu’alykum…).’ (AbiDawood and Tirmidhi)

Announcing takbir for rukuu Obligation

Making Rukuu pillar
saying: "Subhaana rab-biyal-Aziim" at least once Obligation
saying: "Subhaana rab-biyal-Aziim" more than once sunnah
Rising from Rukuu pillar
Saying: Samia-llahu liman hamidah" and "rabbana walaka alhamd" pillar
Raising the hands up to the shoulder sunnah
saying: Hamdan Kasiran Tayeban mubarrakan… sunnah
Announcing takbir for Sujuud Obligation
Performing Sujud pillar
Saying: 'Subhana Rabbyal Aala' at least once Obligation
Saying: 'Subhana Rabbyal Aala' at more than once sunnah
Announcing takbiir to  rise from Sujuud Obligation
Sitting after first sujuud pillar
Saying: the du'aa between 2 sujuds sunnah
Takbiir for the second Sujuud Obligation

Perfroming takbiir for transition to the second rakah Obligation
